We're here to assist you in discovering high-quality, cost-effective individual, family, and group health, life insurance, and Medicare planning.
Is there a method to determine the best health insurance option for me?
When evaluating different health insurance options, begin by assessing your and your family's medical history. Examine past treatments, current prescription drugs, and any specific physicians necessary. Next, understand the deductibles, coinsurance, and maximum out-of-pocket benefits of available plans. Benefit variations are significant; weigh whether you're comfortable with potential costs in unforeseen circumstances. Lastly, consider the monthly premium. What can you afford? By carefully considering these factors, you can confidently select a suitable health insurance plan.
Am I eligible for an Affordable Care Act health insurance plan if I have a pre-existing condition?
Since January 1st, 2014, health insurance companies are prohibited from denying or restricting coverage based on pre-existing conditions. This applies to ACA plans and Medicare Advantage plans.
When is the application period for an Affordable Care Act health insurance plan?
The Open Enrollment period runs from November 1st to January 31st. Applying outside of this window is termed a special enrollment, which necessitates a qualifying reason such as involuntary loss of coverage (employer, Medicaid), marriage, divorce, having a baby, or moving in or out of state.
Am I qualified for a Medicare Supplement if I have a pre-existing condition?
While rules may vary by state, in California, you can bypass medical questions by applying within 6 months of turning 65 or within 6 months of your Part B effective date. Additionally, if you have creditable coverage through your employer or Medi-Cal, you're entitled to guaranteed issue rights. During this 60-day window, you can apply without medical queries. Note: These regulations solely pertain to Medicare Supplement plans, not Medicare Advantage.
When is the Medicare Annual Enrollment period?
Medicare annual enrollment spans from October 15th to December 7th. Within this timeframe, you have the option to adjust your Medicare Advantage plan or prescription drug plan. However, changing your Medicare Supplement plan isn't permitted during this period. Residents of California, though, have the opportunity to switch Medicare Supplement plans without answering medical questions during their birthday month.
